Abstract

Introduction

The Evidence Act Cap 112 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 1990 is the main source of Nigerian Law of Evidence, being the singular statutory authority for our general Law of Evidence in Nigeria. By virtue of Section 5(a) Evidence Act1 the English Common Law of Evidence or any relevant Local Statute in Nigeria may be resorted to, to supplement the provisions of the Act where the need arises.
