Ex Parte Injunctions

Abstract

Introduction
In recent times, the subject matter of Ex parte Application have become topical, important, perhaps notorious
depending on your point of view. Lawyers have condemned judges for their inability or reluctance to grant ex
parte applications. Yet for the litigants some have benefited and many disadvantaged by the grant of Ex parte
applications. Both the needy and the mischievous litigants have used Ex parte injunctions to serve their varying
and diverse purposes. Consequently, it is my considered opinion, that a discussion of the uses and abuses of Ex
parte Applications should for now serve the immediate need of legal development and contemporary
jurisprudence.
